Bengals notebook

Right offensive tackle Willie Anderson, who eschewed doctor's advice and played Sunday, will be one of five Bengals players listed as questionable Wednesday.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis announced the preliminary injury report Monday at his regular news conference.
Anderson (knee), running back Chris Perry (abdomen), cornerback Rashad Bauman (Achilles), defensive lineman Carl Powell (knee) and linebacker Caleb Miller (ankle) are expected to be listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Washington, Lewis said.
Miller sprained his ankle on his first play Sunday.
Defensive lineman Duane Clemons (stinger), safety Kim Herring (knee), fullback Jeremi Johnson (hamstring) and linebacker Landon Johnson (unknown) will be listed as probable.
"From what the doctors have told Willie, we'll see how it goes," Lewis said of Anderson, who made his 72nd consecutive start in the 26-3 victory against Dallas. "Willie has been dealing with this for a while. It could calm down completely again, or he can continue to deal with it the way it is."
The Bengals improved to 3-5. Washington is 3-5, following its 17-10 win at Detroit.
LONG ROAD: A major difference in the Bengals' 3-5 record at the midpoint this year compared to their identical mark a year ago is where they stand in the AFC North division. One year ago, at 3-5, the Bengals were two games out of first place, behind first-place Baltimore, which was 5-3. This year, the Bengals trail Pittsburgh (7-1) by an almost insurmountable four games.
REDSKINS GLANCE: Tailback Clinton Portis had 147 rushing yards Sunday, and the Redskins are 3-0 in the games this season in which he has rushed for 100 yards.
The Redskins are ranked No. 1 in overall defense, third against the run and fifth against the pass. Lewis was Washington's defensive coordinator in 2002, prior to his hiring as Bengals coach.
STAT PACK: The Bengals remained last in the NFL in rush defensive, heading into the Monday night game. They were 28th in overall defense and 25th in offense.
