Johnson vows to get best of cousin
Bengals notebook

Chad Johnson has faced cousin Keyshawn Johnson on the field twice, and twice Keyshawn has prevailed individually and in the final score.
Chad Johnson, the Bengals' fourth-year wide receiver, said Wednesday that the game Sunday against Dallas would have a different result: He will outdo his older cousin.
Chad and Keyshawn talked on the phone Tuesday.
"He said he was going to show me up," Chad said. "We played Keyshawn twice. He talked about how they won the last time, how he showed me up last time, and he's going to do the same this time."
When Keyshawn last played in Cincinnati, a 35-7 Tampa Bay victory in 2002, Chad did not have a reception. But he did get a lot of instruction from Keyshawn.
"He coached me up on the sidelines during the game," Chad said. "Come this time, there is no coaching. I got myself together. And I'm going to go out there and do everything I can to make sure we come out with the victory."
Keyshawn has 12 receptions for 141 yards in two games against the Bengals. Chad has two catches for 27 yards in two games against Keyshawn's Buccaneers.
RATINGS SPIKE: Through eight weeks of the NFL season, local market television ratings of Bengals games have had the second-biggest increase in the league.
Ratings of New England's games in the Boston area are up 35 percent compared to 2003, and the Bengals' ratings are up 33 percent in the local market, according to the NFL.
NEW GUY: The Bengals signed second-year defensive end Terrance Martin, a free agent who played in 12 games with one start for the Texans in 2003.
Martin is 6 feet 2, 323 pounds, and he had 17 tackles for Houston last season.
Martin was the only undrafted free agent rookie to make the Texans roster in 2003. Houston released him in its final cuts Sept. 5. He takes the roster spot opened when defensive tackle Greg Scott was waived Tuesday.
Martin, however, suffered a finger injury early in practice and was listed as questionable.
Scott, if he clears waivers, is expected to re-sign with the Bengals and be placed on the practice squad.
INJURY REPORT: Right offensive tackle Willie Anderson was added to the Bengals' injury report with a recurring knee injury. He did not practice.
Anderson, who has started 71 consecutive games, is questionable, which is a 50-50 chance to play.
If Anderson can't play, Scott Kooistra will play right tackle, coach Marvin Lewis said.
Other injury news: Defensive lineman Carl Powell (knee) is doubtful, and wide receiver Peter Warrick (fibula) is questionable. They did not practice.
Six players are probable: safeties Kim Herring (knee) and Kevin Kaesviharn (wrist), linebackers Caleb Miller (ankle) and Landon Johnson (hip), cornerback Reggie Myles (toe) and running back Chris Perry (abdomen). Herring was the only one of the six not to practice.
DALLAS, BEWARE: Though the Bengals have not enjoyed much success since 1990, they are 15-7 against visiting NFC teams since 1993.
Dallas is the first of two NFC teams scheduled for a Cincinnati visit this season; the New York Giants will play at Paul Brown Stadium in December.
The Bengals also have defeated their last three NFC opponents at home: New Orleans, Seattle and San Francisco.
