Scott signed to take over for injured Williams at DT

The Bengals placed defensive tackle Tony Williams on the injured reserve list Friday, as expected, ending his season.
The Bengals also signed defensive tackle Greg Scott to a two-year contract. Scott takes Williams' spot on the 53-man roster. Scott has been on the practice squad all season.
Scott, 6 feet 4, 293 pounds, played college ball at Hampton and is a second-year pro. He has three games of NFL experience with Washington in 2002. He played in all four Bengals preseason games, was waived Sept. 5 and was signed to the practice squad Sept. 6.
Williams becomes the 12th Bengals player to be put on a reserve list this year. They had three all of last year, and the first players didn't go on IR until December.
Williams suffered a dislocated and broken left ankle Monday against Denver when Broncos right tackle George Foster threw a cut block at Williams' lower body.
Williams, who did not return a phone message Friday, did a taped interview Friday that was aired at 7 p.m. on ESPN's NFL Live.
"I don't fault Foster. I don't think he tried to hurt me," Williams said on the show, making his first public comments since the injury. "My only gripe is when the ball is away, let's not cut-block. Don't block a guy when he's not in the play."
Williams, whose contract expires after the season with the Bengals, vowed to play again.
"This is a bump in the road," he said, "not the end of the road."
