Even in offseason, Eagles' Owens wants the ball

PHILADELPHIA - The season hasn't started yet, and neither has training camp. But already, Terrell Owens is doing what a lot of people thought he'd do when the Philadelphia Eagles acquired him.
Owens is stirring the pot.
Oh, not much. Just enough.
Last week, after the first workout of a three-day minicamp focusing on the passing game, Owens shared a thought with the New York Times.
"I'm not getting enough balls in the seven-on-seven stuff," he said.
Though coming in the offseason, the comment already is making at least one prediction about Owens seem on the money.
"When the Eagles win 21-10 and T.O. catches two balls, he's going to be at his locker, and he's not going to be saying what a great game it was," former Eagles quarterback-turned-TV commentator Ron Jaworski said in April.
"I know what he's going to be saying. You guys know what he's going to be saying. 'I only got two balls, man.' "
Owens didn't back down from his comment.
"That is me being competitive," he said. "I'm really antsy, anticipating a great year, just like the city of Philadelphia. When September comes and the first game, I want to be clicking on all cylinders. ... I know it's early, but I'm ready to go.
"I didn't mean anything negative at all. I think it's a positive."
BROWNS: Right tackle Ryan Tucker signed a four-year extension through 2009 after a season in which he was Cleveland's only offensive player to start all 16 games.
Tucker, 28, signed with the Browns as a free agent in 2002 and has made 30 starts at right tackle for Cleveland the last two seasons, missing two games in 2002 because of a knee injury.
SUMMERALL UPDATE: Broadcaster Pat Summerall attended the Cowboys' minicamp in Irving, Texas, Saturday, two months after getting a liver transplant.
Summerall, 73, said it was his first trip on his own since being cleared to drive. The former NFL kicker, who lives in nearby Southlake, said he feels good but gets tired quickly.
