Weathersby remains serious

Notebook: No change after Monday accident; O'Neal received $2 million bonus

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Dennis Weathersby's condition remained unchanged Friday at University Hospital.

The second-year Bengals cornerback has been in serious condition since suffering a head injury Monday night in a one-car crash in Springdale.

The Bengals released the information after talking with an official at the hospital at 3 p.m.

CONTRACT UPDATE: Cornerback Deltha O'Neal, acquired April 9 in a trade from Denver, signed a five-year contract worth $8.52 million.

O'Neal received a $2 million signing bonus and has a $535,000 base salary in the first season.

FASHION SHOW: They may be big and tough, but a handful of Bengals players will walk the runway to unveil the team's new uniforms.

Coach Marvin Lewis is expected to introduce the players Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the East Club Lounge at Paul Brown Stadium. The event is not open to the public.

The players modeling the uniforms will be quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Jon Kitna, wide receivers Chad Johnson and Peter Warrick, offensive tackle Willie Anderson, defensive end Justin Smith, defensive tackle John Thornton and linebacker Brian Simmons.

The Bengals also will unveil the permanent markings that will be at midfield and in the end zones on the new FieldTurf playing surface in the stadium. The grass field will begin to be removed next week.

DRAFT SHOW: The Bengals are producing a 30-minute draft preview show that will air at 7:30 p.m. Thursday on WLWT-TV (Channel 5). The Bengals are producing the show for the second consecutive year, and the title of this year's program is On the Clock.

SEASON TICKETS: Bengals customers interested in purchasing season tickets can check out their prospective seats on April 24 and 25 at Paul Brown Stadium.

The team's Select-A-Seat events will open Paul Brown Stadium to new season ticket buyers on Saturday, April 24, from noon to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Available reserve seating on all three stadium levels will be marked. Live coverage of the NFL draft will be aired on stadium scoreboard screens.
