Mobile sparks memories for Lewis
By Mark Curnutte

Marvin Lewis on Wednesday marked the first anniversary of his hiring as Bengals coach by preparing to coach in the Senior Bowl.
The Bengals hired Lewis Jan. 14, 2003, and announced his hiring at a resort hotel outside of Mobile, Ala.
"It's gone by fast. It's gone by very fast," Lewis said. "It's been OK. I don't want to say we're satisfied where we are, because we're not."
Lewis and his staff will leave for Mobile on Sunday. They will coach the North all-star team in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 24.
"When we get to Mobile, I'm sure it will bring back a lot of memories," Lewis said.
When recalling how he went to Mobile as defensive coordinator of the Washington Redskins and left as Bengals coach, Lewis said the year seems longer.
"I know we've crossed a lot of ground," said Lewis, whose first Bengals team finished 8-8, a six-game improvement. "We've removed a lot of misconceptions about the Cincinnati Bengals. We've built a strong foundation. Our guys have learned that you get out of it what you put into it."
