Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher has threatened to unplug the Jumbotrons in Nashville's Coliseum today to prevent his players from watching what the Colts are doing.
The Titans can win the AFC South with a Colts loss and a Tennessee victory.
The Colts play at Houston at 1 p.m., and the Titans host Tampa Bay. If both the Colts and Titans win, the Titans will play the AFC North winner on the road.
"All we can control is going out and doing whatever it takes to win this ballgame, and we'll just let the rest unfold," Fisher said.
AUTUMN VACATION: The Giants have interviewed former Jacksonville head coach Tom Coughlin for their vacancy, but Coughlin made the most of his year out of football.
He took a three-week trip to Italy in October, went to his daughter's homecoming weekend at Boston College, did some announcing for college games, attended a fundraiser for the Will McDonough Foundation and spent time with his newborn grandchildren as well as his mother in upstate Waterloo, N.Y.
"There were some things I got to do that I never would have had the chance if I was coaching this year," Coughlin said. "And from that standpoint, it was a great experience."
MANNING, MARVIN: Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison needs eight receptions to reach 100 and extend his league record to five consecutive seasons with 100 catches.
Look for Peyton Manning to throw Harrison's way early and often at Houston. The numbers matter to Harrison, who's smart enough not to complain in public but rarely is happy about the number of passes that come his way.
Manning leads the NFL in passing with 4,047 yards and, on a 63-yarder to Harrison, extended his league record of consecutive 4,000-yard seasons to five. No other QB has thrown for 4,000 yards in more than three straight seasons.
DOME, SWEET DOME: The Vikings need to win at Arizona to clinch the NFC North. They've lost 16 of 17 games outdoors. They beat the Packers to open this season and haven't won outdoors since.
SUPER BAD: The Raiders are 4-11. The worst record after a Super Bowl season is 5-11 by Atlanta in 1999.
ART, ART, ART: Art Modell, 78, will watch his last regular-season game as an NFL owner tonight. In his 43rd season as an owner, he's selling the team to Steve Bischiotti after this season. The Ravens will have a halftime ceremony inducting Modell into their ring of honor.
BLUE DREW: With 11 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions and an average of just 178 passing yards a game, the Bills' Drew Bledsoe had the worst season of his 11-year career.
HAIL TO THIS REDSKIN: The game Saturday was the 297th and final one of defensive end Bruce Smith's 19-year career. He became the NFL's career leader in sacks Dec. 7. Smith, 40, the top pick in the 1985 draft from Virginia Tech, sacked 75 quarterbacks in his career.
NUMBERS GAME: Since 1999, Tennessee's Fisher has a league-best 52 victories. Philadelphia's Andy Reid is second with 49. . . . 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia has a league-best 125.3 passer rating in December. . . . The Chargers have allowed 36 touchdown passes, four short of Denver's league record set in 1963. . . . Of active quarterbacks with at least 50 starts, Kurt Warner (40-17) has the best winning percentage of 70.1. . . . Over their past six games, the Chiefs have given up an average of 192.5 yards rushing.
AFC NORTH: The Ravens' Jamal Lewis goes for a couple of rushing marks tonight against Pittsburgh. He is 48 yards from the fifth 2,000-yard rushing season in NFL history, and he's 154 yards off Eric Dickerson's single-season record of 2,105. Lewis on Dickerson: "It's hard not to think about it. But we have to worry about a win so we can go to the playoffs. I think it's attainable, though." . . . In his past eight games, Steelers quarterback Tommy Maddox has thrown 11 TD passes and three interceptions. Maddox, whose passer rating of 134.3 against Baltimore in the opener was the best of his career, needs 34 passing yards to have the second-most yards passing by a Steelers QB in a season. He has 3,306 yards. Terry Bradshaw holds the top two spots with 3,724 yards in 1979 and 3,339 in 1980.
