Sharpe sets tight end record for TD catches

Denver's Shannon Sharpe set an NFL record for touchdown receptions by a tight end Sunday.
Sharpe caught three touchdown passes against the San Diego Chargers, giving him 61 for his career and moving past Washington's Jerry Smith, who had 60.
He caught an 11-yard TD pass from Jake Plummer in the first quarter. He had a 26-yarder in the second quarter and another 26-yarder in the third quarter.
Sharpe already holds the NFL records for most receptions and receiving yards by a tight end.
Houston Texans cornerback Marcus Coleman and linebacker Antwan Peek were suspended for an unspecified violation of team policy and missed Sunday's 12-10 win against Buffalo.
Texans' coach Dom Capers said that he made the decision to suspend the players Saturday morning because they repeatedly broke team rules.
The two did not travel to Buffalo.
The Eagles were without Pro Bowl cornerback Bobby Taylor (foot) for the fourth straight game. Taylor has played just two games.
Bills running back Travis Henry cracked a bone in his lower right leg, yet continued to play in Buffalo's 12-10 loss to Houston.
Henry finished with 23 carries for 149 yards rushing, with 10 of those carries and 34 yards coming after cracking his fibula. His status is uncertain.
Tennessee defensive end Jevon Kearse sprained his left ankle Sunday in the first quarter against Jacksonville, and the AFC's co-leader did not return to the game. Kearse came into the game tied with Shaun Ellis for the AFC lead with 9.5 sacks.
The Titans extended their NFL-best streak to 26 straight home games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.
Jaguars rookie quarterback Byron Leftwich finished without a touchdown for the first time in nine games.
Browns rookie running back Lee Suggs played for the first time this season after undergoing shoulder surgery. He gained 5 yards on five carries and had a solid special teams tackle.
A loss next weekend at Minnesota would give Detroit 22 straight on the road, tying Buffalo (1983-86) for the second-longest road skid in history. The record is 23 games by the Houston Oilers (1981-84).
