WESTLAKE, Ohio - Cleveland Browns running back William Green pleaded innocent Wednesday to charges of marijuana possession and driving under the influence.
Green was arrested Monday after police received a call from a motorist reporting a possible drunken driver. An officer found a bag of marijuana weighing 3.2 grams in the car, and a breath test indicated Green had a blood-alcohol content of .165, more than twice the state's limit, police said.
DOLPHINS: Quarterback Brian Griese will start against Indianapolis Sunday.
RAIDERS: Marques Tuiasosopo will start at quarterback for Oakland Sunday at Detroit in place of the injured Rich Gannon.
Oakland waived injured tight end Marcus Williams, whose left eye socket was broken by teammate Bill Romanowski during training camp.
Williams plans to seek an injury grievance with the NFL, his lawyer said.
REDSKINS: Washington signed defensive tackle Darrell Russell to a one-year, $790,000 contract Wednesday - two days after he was reinstated following a 1 1/2-year suspension for a second violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
BEARS: Anthony Thomas said he expects to play Sunday for Chicago after missing last week's game with a foot injury.
49ERS: Safety Zack Bronson is expected to miss San Francisco's game against St. Louis with a bulging disk in his back.
BRONCOS: Receiver Ed McCaffrey will not practice this week and probably will see limited playing time even if his sore knee is well enough to play Monday night against New England.
Linebacker John Mobley remains questionable after bruising his spinal cord last weekend.
LIONS: Punter John Jett will miss the rest of the season after being put on the injured reserve list Wednesday with a calf injury. Detroit signed Jacoby Shepherd.
BILLS: Buffalo is leaning toward activating running back Willis McGahee next week even if the first-round draft pick is not immediately ready to play.
EAGLES: Brian Westbrook, the Eagles' leading rusher and kick returner, will miss Philadelphia's game at Atlanta because of a sprained left ankle.
VIKINGS: Running back Michael Bennett will play in his first game of the season Sunday when Minnesota hosts Green Bay.
