Bengals Notebook

Dillon upgraded to probable

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bengals upgraded the condition of tailback Corey Dillon to probable for Sunday's game against Baltimore.

Dillon strained a groin muscle Sept. 21 against the Steelers and was limited to four rushing attempts the next week at Cleveland. He was inactive for the Bengals' most recent game, Oct. 5 at Buffalo. The team was off Oct. 12.

Dillon practiced Friday for the fourth consecutive time this week.

The Bengals downgraded the condition of wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) to doubtful. He practiced Wednesday for the first time since Sept. 3 but was held out Thursday.

Look for rookie wide receiver Kevin Walter, signed Thursday off the practice squad to a three-year contract, to get his first game action against the Ravens. Linebacker Riall Johnson (calf) is probable.

HE'S BACK: A day after he was waived from the 53-man roster, rookie wideout Lawrence Hamilton cleared waivers and was signed to the practice squad.

TURF BUILDER: The Bengals practiced Friday on the new grass field inside Paul Brown Stadium. It was installed after the Steelers game Sept. 21. Dillon said his groin strain was caused by loose sod.

FREEBIE: The first 30,000 fans attending Sunday's game will receive an orange-and-black Bengals "Jungle Towel" courtesy of Cintas.
