Notes: Dillon doubtful Sunday

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bengals downgraded the condition of three players Friday.

Tailback Corey Dillon (groin strain), wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) and linebacker Riall Johnson (calf) were all listed as doubtful - meaning there is only a 25 percent chance of them playing Sunday at Buffalo.

Rudi Johnson is expected to make his first career start instead of Dillon. Johnson rushed for a career-high 51 yards last week at Cleveland and - as a bigger, physical runner - fits the Bengals' run philosophy well.

BUFFALO WINGS: Starting tailback Travis Henry (rib cartilage) participated in 40 percent of Friday's practice and remains questionable for Sunday.

Even if Henry is active, the Bills are expected to start Joe Burns.

CAPTAINS: After consulting his coaching staff, Lewis has made his weekly choices for captains against the Bills.

They are tight end Reggie Kelly (offense), tackle John Thornton (defense) and tight end-long snapper Brad St. Louis (special teams).

"It's more a representation of our football team, and guys who are doing what their coaches ask and are doing it all for the team," Lewis said after Friday's practice. "It's been something guys have been proud to do."
