Kitna, Frerotte competing again
QBs are finalists for NFL Player of the Week
Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna is one of three finalists for the FedEx Express NFL Player of the Week Award.
Kitna had a 125.1 passer rating in the Bengals 21-14 victory at Cleveland on Sunday. He was 23-for-31 passing for three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Quarterbacks Gus Frerotte of Minnesota and Peyton Manning of Indianapolis also were nominated.
Frerotte, who beat out Kitna for the Bengals QB job at the start of the 2002 season, threw four TD passes in a 35-7 rout of the 49ers Sunday.
Manning threw for six TDs in a 55-21 pasting of the Saints.
The award will be announced Thursday.
