Bengals fans can start at Jungle

By Jennifer Edwards
The Cincinnati Enquirer

FAIRFIELD - Welcome to the Jungle. Times two.

"Jungle Jim" Bonaminio is lining up with the Cincinnati Bengals this season for a new Metro express service from the Fairfield mega-market to Paul Brown Stadium.

The route started for two preseason home games and kicks into full gear when the season begins with a Sept. 7 home game.

Bonaminio, owner and founder of Jungle Jim's, says he was delighted to help after Metro approached him with the idea. He also is impressed and optimistic about new coach Marvin Lewis. .

"It's important the Bengals do good," Bonaminio said Tuesday. "It sets the mood of the city. We need positive energy flying around instead of negative energy. Marvin Lewis is trying really hard to be a leader in the community."

Lewis said he is touched by Bonaminio's support.

"Jungle Jim isn't waiting to see what happens. He's getting on board right away," Lewis said. "A lot of people are skeptical, and obviously he has removed his skepticism and is taking the positive outlook on things. A winning environment is healthy for everybody."

Bonaminio hopes riders will tailgate in his newly expanded parking lot, which has 3,300 spaces.

To kick it off, he plans a cookout in the parking lot Sept. 7.

Bengals Express

Riders will arrive and depart from downtown at the Riverfront Transit Center, a short walk to Paul Brown Stadium.

Fare is $5 round-trip or $3.50 one-way (return only). Exact change only. Passports are available for round-trips to all home games for $50.

Locations:

• White Oak shopping center - AmeriStop

• Forest Park Park-n-ride

• Brentwood Kroger

• Jungle Jim's (new)

• Montgomery Square

• Fields Ertel Park-n-ride

• Anderson Township Park-n-ride
