Inside training camp

Today's schedule

8:45-11 a.m., practice

4-5:30 p.m., practice

Directions

From Downtown: Take I-75 South about 70 miles to Exit 126 (Georgetown, Ky.). Turn right off ramp onto U.S. 460 West. Stay on 460 for about 2 miles. Turn right at light onto Lemons Mill Road (1962 West). Turn right into driveway flanked with Georgetown College/Bengals signs.

Coming up

The Bengals will practice Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. An autograph session for fans will follow.

Injury report

•  Defensive tackle Ron Smith (elbow), wide receiver Ron Dugans (Achilles tendon), linebacker Tito Rodriguez (knee) and safety Lamont Thompson (bruised calf) did not practice Tuesday.

•  Tight end Matt Schobel and wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstrings) both continue to work their way back into action in practice.

Palmer watch

Carson Palmer missed two practices Tuesday after tearing a tendon in his right foot Sunday. The injury is more of a pain issue than debilitating, and the rookie quarterback said he would play in the preseason home opener Saturday night. Coach Marvin Lewis said the team will be careful not to rush Palmer back.

Tuesday's highlight

After their disappointing loss Sunday against the Jets, the Bengals did not practice in full uniforms Tuesday. The morning practice, in shoulder pads, ended 20 minutes earlier than the scheduled 11 a.m. Players did not wear shoulder pads for the afternoon practice.

Preseason schedule

Aug. 10 - at Jets 28, Bengals 13

Saturday - DETROIT, 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 23 - TENNESSEE, 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 29 - at Indianapolis, 8 p.m.
