Injury report
The following players did not make the trip to New Jersey because of injuries. They stayed at training camp: Wide receiver Kwazeon Leverette (toe), safety DeLoise Moore (hamstring), linebacker Tito Rodriguez (knee), defensive tackle Ron Smith (elbow/biceps), wide receiver Ron Dugans (Achilles tendon), wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hamstring) and tight end Matt Schobel (hamstring).
Palmer watch
Lewis offered these words of encouragement to Carson Palmer after the rookie quarterback threw his second interception on consecutive plays Sunday against the Jets: "You got to keep throwing, babe. Put it where it belongs. You got to hang in there."
Monday's highlight
Despite four turnovers and sloppy special teams play, Bengals players did not wear down in Sunday's preseason opener. The offseason conditioning program appears to have paid off.
