Inside Camp
Today's schedule
4-5:30 p.m. practice
Directions
From Downtown: Take I-75 South about 70 miles to Exit 126 (Georgetown, Ky.). Turn right off ramp onto U.S. 460 West. Stay on 460 for about 2 miles. Turn right at the light at Lemons Mill Road (1962 West). The driveway for camp is another half-mile on the right.
Coming up
The team is scheduled to practice from 8:45-11 a.m. and from 4-5 p.m. Friday before leaving for New Jersey on Saturday for the preseason opener against the Jets Sunday.
Injury report
TE Matt Schobel and WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh were back at practice and participated in individual drills. LT Levi Jones returned for the evening practice.
Palmer watch
Quarterback Carson Palmer is three days from playing in his first professional game, albeit a preseason affair.
How has rookie Carson Palmer done so far?
"I think as far as base plays and base things, everything is good," coach Marvin Lewis said. "What you have to do as a quarterback is be able to redirect protections. And you have to be able to point out holes and who we're setting things around. I think he's handled most of that well."
Highlights
With the offense backed up to the 10-yard line during evening practice, Corey Dillon broke through the right side of the line and ran almost untouched to the 50. ...Had it been a game, and Palmer an opposing quarterback, CB Reggie Myles would have had a blind-side sack.
Preseason opener
Sunday - at N.Y. Jets, 1 p.m.
