Today's schedule

8:45-11 a.m., practice

6:30-9 p.m., practice

Directions

From Downtown: Take I-75 South about 70 miles to Exit 126 (Georgetown, Ky.). Turn right off ramp onto U.S. 460 West. Stay on 460 for about 2 miles. Turn right at light onto Lemons Mill Road (1962 West). Turn right into driveway flanked with Georgetown College/Bengals signs.

Coming up

There is just one practice Thursday, from 4-5:30 p.m. The team travels to New Jersey on Saturday for Sunday's preseason opener against the Jets.

Injury report

•  Left tackle Levi Jones and wide receiver Ron Dugans each sat out Tuesday's practices with Achilles tendinitis. They are likely to play against the Jets.

Palmer watch

Quarterback Carson Palmer and fellow rookie Kelley Washington hooked up on a deep-out pattern and a comeback route.

In the non-special teams activity of the afternoon, Palmer was given the ball at the opposition's 40-yard line with one minute to play and two timeouts. He moved the offense inside the 15 but lost possession when a completion to tight end Tony Stewart fell short of a first down.

"Game's over," coach Marvin Lewis yelled.

Tuesday's highlights

The special teams kickoff coverage unit was sharp in recovering onside kicks.

Wide receiver Chad Johnson continues to catch almost any ball thrown near him. He went high in the air to snare a Jon Kitna pass in a morning Hail Mary drill.

Preseason schedule

Aug. 10 - at N.Y. Jets, 1 p.m.

Aug. 16 - DETROIT, 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 23 - TENNESSEE, 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 29 - at Indianapolis, 8 p.m.
