Injury report
Tight end Matt Schobel suffered a hamstring injury Monday morning, missed the afternoon practice and could be out for one week.
Defensive tackle Oliver Gibson practiced for the first time since tearing his Achilles' tendon Nov. 10 last year.
Palmer watch
Carson Palmer took several repetitions in the morning practice and showed maturity by throwing an out pattern over the head of a covered receiver and out of bounds.
Palmer talked about his relationship with starter Jon Kitna: "Jon has done a great job helping me along. I've watched film with him and now studied with him. Between plays, he's telling me what to do and what not to do."
Palmer attended the funeral of his paternal grandmother, who died July 21.
Monday's highlight
Kitna completed a 40-yard pass into the wind to Chad Johnson in practice, even though safeties Lamont Thompson and JoJuan Armour had tight coverage.
