As defensive coordinator:
2002 Washington Redskins
Finished fifth in the NFL in total defense (299.2).
Finished fifth in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game (189.6).
Finished 12th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game (109.6).
2001 Baltimore Ravens
Finished second in NFL and AFC in total defense.
Finished fourth against the run and eighth against the pass in the NFL.
Finished second against the run and fourth against the run in the NFL.
Finished in the top four in seven categories.
2000 Baltimore Ravens
Set the NFL's 16-game scoring record by allowing only 165 points.
Set the NFL's 16-game rushing yards allowed record with 970.
Recorded four shutouts, one shy of the post-merger NFL record held by the 1976 Steelers.
Led the NFL in forced turnovers with 49.
1999 Baltimore Ravens
Finished second in the NFL in yards allowed (263.9) and finished in the top two in five other categories.
Finished sixth in the NFL by allowing 17.3 points per game.
Sent four players to the Pro Bowl.
Didn't permit a 100-yard rusher all season.
1996-98 Baltimore Ravens
Finished 16th in the NFL in points allowed per game (20.9) in 1998, 18th in 1997 (21.6), 29th in 1996 (27.6).
Finished 10th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed in 1997 (1,690).
As position coach:
1992-95 Steelers linebackers coach
Defenses ranked in the top three in the NFL each season.
Coached Pro Bowl linebackers Kevin Greene, Chad Brown and Greg Lloyd.
In two seasons (94-95), the Steelers registered 97 sacks, 63.5 of which the LBs posted.
The linebackers under Lewis accounted for 42 percent of the total tackles in 1995.
