Four players signed to offseason roster
Bengals notebook

The Cincinnati Enquirer
The Bengals signed four players to their offseason roster.
They are:
Defensive tackle Mario Monds, who signed a two-year contract and will be classified as a second-year NFL player in 2003.
Linebacker Tito Rodriguez and tight end Derek Smith, who signed three-year contracts. They both will be classified as first-year players in 2003.
Cornerback Tierre Sams, who was with the Bengals in the 2002 preseason, signed a two-year contract and will be classified as a first-year player.
Monds, Rodriguez and Smith all finished the 2002 season on the Bengals' practice squad.
TOP MAN: Right tackle Willie Anderson has been selected as the Bengals' nominee for the 2002 NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
Anderson's charitable works include Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. He is a youth-league football sponsor and has announced plans to start a scholarship fund for youths.
The award, presented since 1970, was renamed in 1999 to honor the late Walter Payton, the former Chicago Bears running back.
NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue will announce the winner during Super Bowl week.
NOT COACHING: Because of coach Dick LeBeau's firing and uncertainty in the Bengals' coaching staff, Cincinnati will not coach a team in the Jan. 18 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
NFL policy is to have the two teams drafting Nos. 1 and 2 to coach the Senior Bowl teams.
The staffs of the No. 2 Detroit Lions and No. 3 Houston Texans will coach the all-star teams.
Texans coach Dom Capers and his staff will direct the North squad. Marty Mornhinweg and the Detroit Lions' coaching staff will lead the South squad.
