Team denies restructuring rumor

Bengals notebook

The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bengals on Friday dismissed another media report about possible restructuring of their front office.

The Philadelphia Daily News reported Friday that NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue has run out of patience with the Bengals and twice told team president Mike Brown to hire a general manager after the season.

On Friday, Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan termed the report "speculative and inaccurate."

The Daily News, citing three unnamed league sources, reported that Brown is considering naming his daughter, Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn, as the team's general manager.

Tagliabue has turned down several requests for interviews from the Enquirer this season to discuss the Bengals' inability to win in a league designed for parity.

INJURY REPORT: Bengals coach Dick LeBeau said injured defensive lineman Bernard Whittington, wide receiver Peter Warrick and defensive end Vaughn Booker will be game-time decisions Sunday.

Cornerback LaVar Glover is doubtful.
