Bengals Notebook

Ankle injury ends season for Spearman

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bengals placed linebacker Armegis Spearman on the injured reserve list Friday, ending his season.

Spearman, in his third year from Mississippi, suffered a high ankle sprain last week against the Tennessee Titans and faces six to eight weeks of rehabilitation.

No move has been made to fill his spot on the 53-man roster.

IFFY: Bengals coach Dick LeBeau said he is unsure whether cornerback Jeff Burris, safety Cory Hall, and wide receivers Ron Dugans and Danny Farmer will be ready to play Sunday at Houston because of injuries.

CONGRATS: Cornerback Kevin Kaesviharn and his wife, Michelle, became the parents of a son, Kristian, born Sunday night at Good Samaritan Hospital.

MIKE'S BACK: Bengals president Mike Brown returned Friday after spending two days in New York for the NFL owners' fall meetings.

Topics discussed were whether the Super Bowl should be awarded to a cold-weather northern city, such as New York or Washington, and the slightly increased length of games.
