Season's 1st home sellout is courtesy Steelers fans

Manuel earns 2nd straight start at safety

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Sunday's Bengals-Steelers game officially sold out Thursday and is the first sellout in three Bengals home starts this season.

The game will be shown locally on WKRC-TV (Channel 12) at 1p.m.

In two-plus seasons at Paul Brown Stadium, the Bengals have sold out seven of 19 games.

MANUEL DRIVE: Rookie safety Marquand Manuel will make his second consecutive start, Sunday against the Steelers.

Manuel made his first NFL start against Indianapolis last weekend and had two tackles and one pass defensed.

"I wanted to go out and do my job. I want to contribute," he said.

Manuel also recovered an onside kickoff that first was batted down by Ron Dugans.

Coach Dick LeBeau said Manuel started ahead of JoJuan Armour because Manuel gives the defense better pass coverage.

Manuel, who played in college for Florida, was the Bengals' sixth-round pick.

INJURY UPDATE: Right guard Mike Goff (leg) and tight end Sean Brewer (knee) will not start Sunday against the Steelers.

Scott Rehberg will get a third start at right guard, and rookie Matt Schobel will play tight end.

Middle linebacker Brian Simmons remains questionable because of a neck stinger. If Simmons can't play, Adrian Ross will move to middle linebacker, and Canute Curtis will play outside.

BELL RINGER: Steelers linebacker Kendrell Bell, who has been out since the opener because of an ankle injury, is questionable for Sunday's game but has practiced this week.

SEVEN UP: Bengals running back Corey Dillon has seven of the top 10 individual rushing games in club history.

His 164-yard effort at Indianapolis is the ninth-best rushing game. Dillon owns Nos.1-3, 5 and 7-9. James Brooks has the fourth- and 10th-best games, and Harold Green checks in at No.6.

Dillon's 67-yard touchdown run was his 10th effort of more than 50 yards in his five-plus years with the Bengals.
