Burris on the spot
By Mark Curnutte mcurnutte@enquirer.com
The Cincinnati Enquirer
The Chargers threw the ball just 19 times against the Bengals last week. The Browns will throw at least twice that much today, putting Bengals cornerbacks on the spot - especially Jeff Burris, who will be covering wide receiver Quincy Morgan much of the game.
Morgan had the second-biggest game of any NFL receiver last week, catching nine passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He had 44 receiving yards in the fourth quarter alone.
Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, Burris was having problems with Chargers wide receiver Curtis Conway, who led San Diego with five receptions and a touchdown.
Browns quarterback Kelly Holcomb will take a three-step drop and fire a quick slant to Morgan and his compatriot, Kevin Johnson, who had eight catches for 96 yards last week.
The Browns' receivers against the Bengals' secondary is a potentially game-deciding matchup for the visiting Bengals.
