July 25 — Players report; first two draft picks, Levi Jones and Lamont Thompson, agree to multiyear contracts.
July 26 — First practices.
July 28 — First major injury to a player; wide receiver Michael Westbrook breaks wrist in practice.
July 30 — First players waived from camp (four undrafted rookie free agents).
Aug. 3 — Intrasquad scrimmage.
Aug. 9 — First preseason game, 24-17 victory at Buffalo.
Aug. 13 — Middle linebacker Brian Simmons, one of team's top players, signs six-year contract extension.
Aug. 17 — Second preseason game, 22-10 victory at Indianapolis.
