Browns WR stays after all
NFL notebook
The Associated Press
Wide receiver Kevin Johnson agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension Saturday with the Cleveland Browns, three days after the team gave his agent permission to shop for a new deal.
Johnson, who was eligible to become a free agent after this season, agreed to a new deal worth $13.85 million and will receive a $3.5 million signing bonus.
Johnson totaled 84 receptions, 1,097 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
RAMS: Receiver Terrence Wilkins could miss up to three weeks and the Sept.8 season opener because of a rib injury, coach Mike Martz said.
Wilkins was injured in a pileup after returning a punt Friday in the Rams' 19-17 preseason loss to Chicago.
BRONCOS: The team will pay for all damages associated with a training camp prank in a dormitory at the University of Northern Colorado.
Several rookies were awakened by buckets of water, then covered with flour and maple syrup Wednesday night. Rookies retaliated by spraying a fire extinguisher. Damage was estimated to be from $1,000 to $3,000.
DOLPHINS: Coach Dave Wannstedt named Jamie Nails the starter at left guard and shifted Mark Dixon to left tackle. The starting offensive line now features Dixon, Nails, center Tim Ruddy, guard Todd Perry and tackle Todd Wade.
