Scott no-show for Bengals' workout

By Mark Curnutte mcurnutte@enquirer.com
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Bengals wide receiver Darnay Scott was a no-show for Tuesday morning's voluntary veteran workout.

Wide receivers coach Steve Mooshagian said he hopes Scott will arrive from his offseason home in St.Louis in time for today's workout.

“He said he would be in May21,” Mooshagian said after Tuesday's practice. “We keep missing each other on the phone.”

Scott did not participate in the Bengals' May3-6 minicamp because of recurring pain in his left leg, which he broke in training camp in August 2000.

Scott received a two-week window from the end of minicamp to rehab his leg, and he chose to return to St.Louis to see his doctor and work with his personal trainer. Scott told Mooshagian last week that he was pain-free while running.

Scott, a ninth-year pro, is the oldest of the Bengals' six wide receivers. The other five — Peter Warrick, Ron Dugans, Danny Farmer, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson — are attending workouts.
