Mixon picks Vikings, not Bengals
Free agent defensive lineman Kenny Mixon, who visited the Bengals Friday, agreed to a $17 million, five-year contract with the Minnesota Vikins Saturday.
It includes a $3.4 million signing bonus, Mixon's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said.
He hated to leave Miami, Rosenhaus said. He made a lot of friends and had close teammates, but he has the opportunity to join an up and coming defense and have financial security for his family.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Mixon had 55 tackles and two sacks for Miami last season and was considered one of the top defensive ends available on the free agent market this offseason. He is slated to start at left end next season.
