Ailing McNair will face Bengals

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair certainly could benefit from a break, having played through shoulder, elbow, hand and back pain all year long, but he will start against the Bengals.

“(Holding him out) is a consideration, but Steve loves to play,” Titans coach Jeff Fisher said. “He has done so much this year and battled through so much to play. He deserves to play some more. He deserves to keep putting up the numbers he's been putting up.”

Said McNair, “If I can go, I'll always go. I always want to go.”

McNair is 253-of-413 passing for 3,177 yards in 14 starts; he missed the Sept.23 game in Jacksonville with a sore shoulder. He needs 51 yards Sunday to pass his career high of 3,228 yards set in 1998. His 20 TD passes this season are already a career high.
