Saints fans throw bottles

NEW ORLEANS New Orleans Saints fans who were irate with a call against their team threw beer bottles, cups and ice onto the Superdome field Monday, resulting in 13 arrests a day after a similar incident in Cleveland.

I think that was unacceptable what they did, Saints coach Jim Haslett said after his team's 34-21 loss to the St. Louis Rams. There's no reason to do that.
God forbid, someone should be hurt by one of these projectiles being thrown, NFL security director Milt Ahlerich said.
Fifteen people were ejected in the disturbance, which was quickly quelled by security personnel as the public address announcer said: This is New Orleans. We are sportsmen.
The incident happened after the Saints' Keven Mathis was penalized for pass interference as he covered Torry Holt of the St. Louis Rams.
The penalty gave the Rams a first down on the Saints' 1-yard line and immediately sparked the throwing from fans in one corner of the end zone.
