The Bengals intercepted quarterback Dan Pastorini three times in Rams territory, and the Bengals offense turned those into three touchdowns in the 24-10 victory.

        The Bengals improved to 8-3, and for the first time, they were talking Super Bowl.

        “I can really see us going to the Super Bowl,” 10-year linebacker Jim LeClair said afterward.

        Cornerback Louis Breeden had a pair of interceptions for the second consecutive game, and defensive end Eddie Edwards had three of the Bengals' six sacks after oversleeping and missing the team's Saturday night hotel check-in curfew.

        Quarterback Ken Anderson, playing with a bruised left shoulder, left the game in the second half. He was the leading rusher with 58 yards on scrambles, and fullback Pete Johnson added 56 yards with two touchdown runs and a three-yard touchdown reception.

        The Bengals were three-fifths through their “November to Remember” run of five consecutive victories over playoff-quality teams. In the first three, Cincinnati had outscored its opponents 98-48.

        But this one belonged to the defense.

        “Our defense just totally won it,” wide receiver Cris Collinsworth said afterward. “The offense never really got cranked up.”
