Players to watch
Bengals WR Peter Warrick vs. Browns CB Anthony Henry
By Mark Cunrutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Second-year pro Peter Warrick is the Bengals' leading receiver with 43 receptions and will again be a major part of their game plan today at Cleveland.
Warrick was moved to the slot after the recovery of veteran Darnay Scott and the emergence of rookie Chad Johnson. Warrick has just a 9.9-yard average, but his concentration has improved this season, witnessed by the decrease in the number of dropped passes.
Some fans are frustrated by what they perceive to be the lack of explosiveness in Warrick's game and are upset with coaches for turning Warrick into a possession receiver.
Warrick has played a big part in the overall improvement of the pass offense, which was last in the league at 122 yards a game in 2000 but has risen to 24th with a 192 average.
Today, Warrick figures to capture the attention of Browns cornerback Anthony Henry, the rookie from South Florida, who has a pair of three-interception games and has seven for the season. Henry had a total of 10 interceptions in four years at South Florida.
He's the first player since the Bengals' David Fulcher to have two three-interception games in one season.
Henry's seven picks lead the Browns, who have a league-leading 20 interceptions. Cleveland is second in the league with a plus-12 turnover differential.
