Warrick gets close to comfort
'Starting to get easy,' receiver says
By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer
PONTIAC, Mich. Wide receiver Peter Warrick followed his career-best, eight-catch day against Chicago with five more receptions at Detroit, giving him 35 for 334 yards this season. He's on pace for 80 receptions and 768 receiving yards.
What's more comforting to Warrick is his growing knowledge of the new offense that finds him and quarterback Jon Kitna reading coverages the same way.
There's a big difference between last year. I'm just taking my time and feeling it out, getting in the right place at the right time, Warrick said. It's just starting to get easy out there. It's been hard for me to go from college to here and trying to do things I did. I'm becoming a better player.
One improvement Warrick has made the past few games is reducing his habit of losing yards after a catch.
He has been catching the ball and turning directly upfield more often after catches to convert additional first downs.
