Bengals add punter, idle Plummer

The Bengals acquired rookie punter Nick Harris on waivers from the Denver Broncos.
The former University of California product was the Broncos' fourth-round pick in April after closing out his college career with NCAA records in total punts (322) and punt yardage (13,621). He av eraged 42.3 yards a kick in college and punted seven times for the Broncos in preseason for an average of 37.3 yards and three punts inside the 20-yard line.
Harris will wear No.8 and is expected to punt tonight in the Bengals' preseason finale.
Daniel Pope was the Bengals' only punter on the roster after the team Monday waived veteran Will Brice. Pope set a franchise record with 94 punts last season.
The Bengals also placed wide receiver Chad Plummer on the injured reserve list. Plummer, the former UC quarterback, suffered torn hip cartilage in the Aug.25 game against Buffalo. He will not play all season.
