By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer
CHICAGO The Bears-Bengals matchup brought together two former Detroit Lions cornerbacks, Bengals coach Dick LeBeau and Bears coach Dick Jauron.
LeBeau played for the Lions from 1959-72, and Jauron played for Detroit from 1973-77 before coming to Cincinnati to play safety for the Bengals from 1978-81, where he had 11 interceptions and was coached by secondary coach LeBeau for two seasons.
The Bears are 11-21 in Jauron's two seasons in Chicago. He lost his only preseason game against the Bengals, 24-20, in the Bengals' preseason opener in 2000.
LeBeau was 4-9 in 2000 after taking over for Bruce Coslet.
