Boomer joining FSN pregame show

The Associated Press

NEW YORK — Former NFL players Boomer Esiason and Deacon Jones will join the cast of Fox Sports Net's NFL This Morning show, which airs each Sunday during the NFL season.

Esiason, 40, and Jones, 62, join former Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy and comedian Jay Mohr on the show's cast. The News Corp. network said it also is considering bringing back other analysts from last season, including former NFL players Jackie Slater, Billy Ray Smith Jr. and Sean Jones.

Esiason still will work as an analyst on Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports' broadcasts of Monday night NFL games. He joined CBS Radio last season after being fired from his job as an analyst on Monday Night Football for Walt Disney Co.'s ABC.

“I feel really good about getting back into television,” Esiason said. “This is a show that seems to be irreverent at times but gives the NFL fan a great deal of knowledge.”
