Akili says shoulder is 'fine'
Bengals Notebook
Quarterback Akili Smith, a day after having an MRI on his right shoulder, said he was fine Thursday and would be able to throw again when voluntary workouts begin again Tuesday.
SEVEN DAYS: More than 50 Bengals veterans participated in the first three days of voluntary workouts, which ended Thursday. With the four days of minicamp, that made seven consecutive days for those players.
What I liked particularly about the offense, the whole offense, was there weren't a lot of glaring busts, coach Dick LeBeau said. That tells me they're applying themselves and taking a look at this stuff in the evening.
We're continually installing as we go daily, and if they're not keeping up with it, we wouldn't have been able to function like we did these seven days.
CALL THE PLUMMER: Wide receiver Chad Plummer, who played quarterback at the University of Cincinnati, continues to impress Bengals coaches and scouts with his play during workouts.
