Akili's shoulder sore, not damaged
Bengals quarterback Akili Smith underwent an MRI on Wednesday to examine his sore throwing shoulder. The MRI showed no damage.
Smith has complained of soreness on the back of his throwing shoulder, which apparently stems from voluntary workouts in which he threw 100-plus passes to a large group of wide receivers.
Rest and rehab, trainer Paul Sparling said.
Smith handed off in voluntary workouts Wednesday and should do the same again today.
Sparling looks for Smith to be throwing again when workouts resume Tuesday.
