Goff gets new deal with Bengals
By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Mike Goff, who started all 16 games at right guard for the Bengals in 2000, on Friday agreed to terms on a three-year contract.
The Bengals tore up the remaining year on Goff's contract and extended it two more years.
Goff, who's 6-foot-5, 316 pounds, is entering his fourth season. He was a third-round draft pick by the Bengals in 1998 and led the offense by playing 991 of 1,001 snaps last year.
Goff is the fourth starter to get a new contract from last season's offensive line, which led the Bengals to a No.2 rank in NFL rushing. The line blocked for running back Corey Dillon when Dillon set an NFL single-game record with 278 yards rushing against Denver.
Other 2000 offensive line starters to sign new contracts since the end of the season are center Rich Braham, left guard Matt O'Dwyer and left tackle John Jackson.
Goff came into training camp a year ago as the backup to right guard Brian DeMarco. But DeMarco was cut at the end of camp, and Goff was promoted to starter.
