Johnson, Holmes to visit Bengals
Big-name free agents lining up for potential big payout

The Cincinnati Enquirer
Agents for former Washington quarterback Brad Johnson and Tennessee defensive end Kenny Holmes confirmed Saturday their clients will visit Cincinnati to meet with Bengals officials.
We're coming to check it out, but we haven't set a date, said agent Phil Williams, who represents Johnson.
The Bengals are one of four teams showing interest in the veteran free agent quarterback, along with Kansas City, Tampa and Baltimore which has made similar offers to Johnson and former Chiefs quarterback Elvis Grbac.
Grbac is scheduled to meet today with the Bengals, who are one of three teams in contention for the 30-year-old northern Ohio native. Seattle and the Ravens are the other two teams trying to sign Grbac.
The Bengals on Saturday entertained former Denver quarterback Gus Frerotte, a visit guided by quarterbacks coach Ken Anderson.
Frerotte, who's headed next to Miami, is represented by Ralph Cindrich.
The opportunity to start looks good, Cindrich said Saturday of the Bengals.
Former Seattle quarterback Jon Kitna will visit Tuesday, meaning the four top quarterbacks in free agency are coming to Cincinnati on consecutive days.
Cincinnati is a popular port of call for this year's free agent class because the Bengals are $14.8 million under the salary cap, the most in the league, according to the NFL Management Council. Cleveland is second at $12.4 million, followed by Philadelphia and Kansas City at $8.1 million.
We haven't been turned down or rejected by anyone, but I guess I wouldn't either with as much cap room as we have, said Jim Lippincott, Bengals director of pro/college personnel.
Holmes will join the parade of defensive linemen coming to town this week.
He's curious to see where the organization is going to go next, said Mitchell Frankel, Holmes' agent.
The Bengals also have secured visits from former Bills Pro Bowler Ted Washington, Taylor High School graduate Dana Stubblefield most recently with the Redskins and Jason Ferguson of the Jets and Tony Williams of the Vikings.
John Randle signed with the Seahawks Saturday.
