Dillon must take domestic violence treatment

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Bengals running back Corey Dillon has agreed to a stipulated order of continuance, which means domestic violence charges against him can be dropped in 18 months if he meets several conditions.

Dillon must donate $750 to a women's shelter, attend domestic violence treatment classes and have no violations of the law in the next year and a half.

“Basically, he has agreed to the facts in the police report,” said Gurjit Pandher, chief city prosecutor in Federal Way, Wash. “If he violates the agreement, he goes before a judge and the judge can find him guilty based on the police report.”

Dillon, 26, was charged with fourth-degree assault Aug.26 in the Seattle suburb following an incident in which his wife, Desiree, said Dillon hit her in the lip.

Dillon repeatedly denied hitting his wife and said he was defending himself from her blows by putting his hands up to shield his face.

His Seattle attorney, Jesse Franklin, referred a call Thursday to Dillon's new agent, Leigh Steinberg, which was not returned.
