Ex-Bengal Francis faces child-support charges
Former Bengals linebacker James Francis was charged in Hamilton County Wednesday with failing to pay child support money to his 6-year-old son.
Francis, 32, is accused of failing to pay $94,825 to support his son, Tyrin Warner. Prosecutors say Francis last paid child support in February, when he sent a check for $110.
Francis was the Bengals' first-round draft choice in 1990 and played with the team until he was cut last year.
The former Bengal also is involved in another child support dispute involving a 3-year-old child living in New Jersey. In that case, prosecutors say, Mr. Francis owes more than $685,000.
That amount is in dispute, however, because Mr. Francis is arguing that the monthly payment of $21,000 is too high.
