Bengals make 3 roster moves

By Mark Curnutte
The Cincinnati Enquirer

The Bengals signed wide receiver LaVell Boyd to the 53-man roster from the team's practice squad on Wednesday.

The rookie free agent from Louisville had four receptions for 35 yards in the preseason and has been on the practice squad since Aug.28.

To make room for Boyd, the Bengals waived linebacker Marc Megna. A first-year player, he saw action in the New England and Pittsburgh games. He will be eligible to return to the Cincinnati practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Bengals also signed tight end/long snapper Kirk McMullen to the practice squad. He is a rookie free agent who spent one week on the Kansas City practice squad before being released Sept.5.

SIGN OF FAITH: Cincinnati coach Dick LeBeau will stay with punt returner Craig Yeast, even though Yeast fum bled two punts Sunday against the Steelers.

“Craig had an excellent year last year and had a rough, rough day,” LeBeau said. “I told him we're not changing our punt returner. I expect him to step up and handle the job the way I know he can do it, so he's getting an opportunity to answer.”

ARIZONA SERIES: Cincinnati leads 4-2. The Bengals are 10-4 against NFC teams at home since 1993.
