Brown wants to re-sign Dillon
'He certainly has proven everything he has to prove'

On Monday, less than 24 hours after Corey Dillon set the NFL's single-game rushing record with 278 yards, Bengals President Mike Brown said he wanted to re-sign the Pro Bowl running back after the season.
Dillon, as an unrestricted free agent, is free to leave Cincinnati after this year. Brown said the team would begin negotiating with Dillon before he becomes a free agent in February.
It would be our intention to re-sign him at that time, Brown said Monday night. He certainly has proven everything he has to prove.
Dillon declined to speculate where he might be next year but said he would be willing to listen to anything the Bengals had to say.
I don't work in the contract department, he said Monday. I'm only paid to come down here to perform on Sundays. I'm just going to continue to play hard.
Dillon broke Walter Payton's mark of 275 yards and had two long touchdown runs, showing break-away speed that Bengals officials had said he lacked.
There were complaints I couldn't do certain things, Dillon said. I wanted to come into this season and show that I am a total package. I can do a variety things.
He worked in the offseason to improve his speed, pass-catching and ability to carry the ball in his right as well as his left hand.
Dillon, who signed a one-year $3 million contract in August after a three-week holdout, is now 10th in the NFL with 601 rushing yards. He is reportedly seeking a multiyear contract worth more than $5 million a year with an $8-$10 million signing bonus.
