Five Questions with Peter Warrick

When Peter Warrick met the media last week upon signing his contract, he was nearly bouncing. “I'm ready to play right now,” he said. He hasn't been able to work out with the team because he has been fulfilling 30 days of community service work in Tallahassee, Fla., for his guilty plea for petty theft. But he's expected to join the team Tuesday when voluntary workouts resume.

The man voted Best Dresser on his Florida State team is flashy both in fashion and with the football. He can't wait for the season opener against Cleveland, a team he wants to “pay back” after the Browns led him to believe he would be their first-round pick before selecting Courtney Brown instead.

He took time last week to answer five questions from Enquirer reporter Neil Schmidt:

        1. You told The Sporting News you wanted to "Randy Moss' the Browns. What does that mean?

That's what you say back at home (in Tallahassee). When somebody gets beat deep, you say, "Oooh, he Mossed him.' I think one day they might say, "He P-W'ed him.'

        2. Can you describe your style, and have you started wearing Bengals gear yet at home?

I usually like (to wear) a T-shirt, jeans, with a hat on — turned backward. I like to (match) whatever kind of shirt I have on with the same hat. I did start that (wearing Bengals gear). If I wear something orange and black, I'm wearing a Cincinnati hat. See how my agents dress, with suits? That's not my style. I know over a period of time I'll be dressing like that, but right now I'm not into that.

        3. Are you studying your playbook?

I study that almost every night. Since I haven't been here (in Cincinnati), I know I can't lose track of time.

        4. What are your plans for your first paycheck?

I'm going to take care of my family — my mom and my daughter (ALyric), who's 3 years old. Make a better life for them.

        5. You think you might have any pull with Corey Dillon and could call him (about his contract negotiations)?

I sure will. He could really put us over the top. He can cross our T's and dot our I's.
