The Bengals were optimistic Saturday night that they could reach a deal by Monday with Ravens quarterback Scott Mitchell.

Bengals vice president Paul Brown talked with Mitchell's agent Saturday and said Mitchell wanted to take another day to decide between Cincinnati and Dallas.

Brown said Mitchell was leaning toward not making the trip to Dallas today.

Mitchell would back up Akili Smith.
