1992 Drafted 166th overall (6th round) by New York Jets and played in three games, completing 4-of-9 passes.
1993 On Jets inactive list for all 16 games.
1994 Acquired by Bengals on waivers Aug.29 and was inactive first six games. Started Week 8 after injuries to QBs David Klingler and Donald Hollas and threw for two TDs as Bengals almost beat defending Super Bowl champion Cowboys. Started rest of season and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for November. Record: 3-6
1995 Begins season as starter and 82.1 passer rating was Bengals' highest since 1989. Elected to Pro Bowl. Record: 7-9
1996 Started every game and his 3,624 passing yards was fourth-best in Bengals history. Record: 8-8
1997 Started first 11 games as Bengals went 3-8; did not play in final five games as Boomer Esiason led team to 4-1 record.
1998 Failed to win starting QB job in training camp and began season as No. 2 behind Neil O'Donnell. Rose to No. 1 QB for games 14 and 15 but suffered chipped bone in right wrist, ending season. Record: 1-1
1999 Entered camp as starter, expected to groom rookie Akili Smith. Started first four games as team went 0-4. Lost starting job to Smith in Week 5, then returned as starter after Smith was injured in Week 8. Started last eight games. Record: 3-9
