Mack breaks wrist in Pro Bowl
The Associated Press
HONOLULU Maybe the Bengals are better off not having any players in the Pro Bowl.
Tremain Mack suffered a fractured wrist when he was tackled on a kickoff return in Sunday's game, and running back Corey Dillon's major contribution was a fumble on his only carry.
Call it the Bengals curse. They were better off the past two years when they didn't have any players in the season-ending NFL all-star game.
And to think it could have been worse. After Mack went down in the first quarter, Dillon returned the next kick.
Everybody in Cincinnati, hold your breath and hope he doesn't get hurt, said Boomer Esiason, ABC commentator and former Bengals quarterback, as Dillon ran out to the AFC's 35-yard line.
Dillon also caught one pass for nine yards.
The NFC beat the AFC 51-31 in the highest-scoring Pro Bowl.
