Leeuwenburg to talk about living with diabetes
Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Jay Leeuwenburg will talk to families affected by Type 1 juvenile diabetes Monday at the Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Mr. Leeuwenburg has disease himself and hopes to let others who have it know that the disease does not have to restrict them from achieving their dreams.
My job is hard on my body, he said. I need to listen to what my body tells me. I take control of the disease and do not let the disease take control of me.
Mr. Leeuwenburg will appear in the hospital cafeteria from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
For information, call the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International, Greater Cincinnati Chapter, 793-3223.
