Bengals-Browns sold out
Traditional rivalry will be televised

The Bengals and Cleveland Browns, even in their worst years, always sold out their intrastate meetings. And now they have done it again.
The Browns (2-11) visit the Bengals (3-10) at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cinergy Field, with the game declared a sellout Tuesday. That means there will be local television (Channel 12) for only the second time this season. The Oct.17 Pittsburgh game also was a sellout.
These are not the Browns who played Cincinnati from 1970-95, when the so-called Battle of Ohio raged twice annually. The original Browns moved to Baltimore in 1996, and the 1999 team is an expansion franchise.
Even when things were going poorly in the middle of the year, we expected this game to be a sellout, Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said. The rivalry factor is important to the fans, regardless of the records.
The largest crowd to attend a Cincinnati sporting event was 60,284 for a Bengals-Browns game at then-Riverfront Stadium on Oct. 17, 1971. The Browns won 27-24.
This year, the Bengals beat the Browns 18-17 in Cleveland on Oct. 10.
The Browns lead the all-time regular-season series 27-25.
